Barely a week after the green-beer-fueled craziness of the Greenville Avenue St. Patrick's Day Parade, the folks over in Hollywood Heights-Santa Monica get to show off their natural insanity during their Easter Day Parade.
Billed as "The Very Third Ever Newellian Easter Parade," the event takes off at 3 p.m. March 23 along Newell Avenue.
Organizers, called the Bunny Board, invite residents to join in the parade by creating floats or dressing up their "dogs, snakes, turtles," and, we assume, kids in Eastery attire.
Float registration ends March 16, and the entry fee costs two dozen candy-filled plastic eggs, which, when you think about it, is really a bargain.
E-mail Simmons or "The Twig" to receive a quasi-official entry form. Or just go stand on the curb and watch a good show.
Seriously, any event that promises "Eastery floats and flurfy bunnies" has got to be fun.
