Happy Income Tax Day. Any tax caroling planned or festive cards for the relatives? No? Didn't think so.

I can't complain too much. Not at all, really, because my genius CPA father-accountant wrangled a refund for my wife and me, when we were braced for a significant hit.

Still, I started wondering about what percentage of people who live around here had to pay taxes and what percentage now await refunds. How many of you broke even during the year and neither owe or are owed?

A completely unscientific survey, mind you, but it might be interesting. Use the comments function to indicate the category you fall into ... sorry, Ms. Shipman, into which you fall. End of story

Refund. Of course I deducted my daughters twice each. Seems about right.
