Well, that didn't take long. We posted an item yesterday about two dogs — a German shepherd-mix and a pit bull-mix — picked up from the intersection of Garland Road and Buckner Boulevard.
A good Samaritan rescued the dogs, but not before the shepherd-mix was injured when struck by a car.
The shepherd-mix, named Crash, was taken to an emergency veterinarian and the pit-mix, Puppy, to a foster home. Paws in the City rode to the financial rescue with payments for Crash's medical treatment.
Little Forest Hills Animal Alert tracked the unregistered identifying microchip embedded in Crash, contacted the dogs' human, who made a fast dash to pick up Puppy before heading to retrieve Crash, who looks to be making a complete recovery from internal bruising.
Congratulations all around. Have a look at Puppy's face during the reunion with his human and understand why people involved in animal rescue do what they do.
