The sixth-grade at J.L. Long Middle School wants to take a field trip to Fair Park tomorrow but they need some adult guidance.

School officials have all the students they need for the trip, but they lack chaperones to accompany the kids.

We received an e-mail containing an urgent call for adult volunteers to ride along with and keep an eye on the students making the field trip. Anyone who wants to step up can e-mail Libba Zak. She has two e-mail addresses, so hit both of them just to be sure.

Volunteers also will need to complete a verification form, which can be downloaded from the Dallas ISD Web site.

Buses leave the Long campus at 8:30 a.m. May 6 and return about 2:30 p.m.
