Serving Up Cowgirl Justice

Local resident Jamise Fisher is owner of and designer for Cowgirl Justice. She's a pretty mean barrel racer, and you better not mess with her.

Black White Read: Why the name Cowgirl Justice? Not enough justice in the world for cowgirls?
The barrel racing world is pretty small, most everyone knows each other. One of the girls sold saddles over the Internet. She got a check [for one], shipped it, and then the check bounced. We all banded together to get justice.

BWR: So what happened?
Someone knew who had the saddle, and at a rodeo she just took it right off the saddle thief's horse. Justice!

BWR: Why "get a rope" for your tagline?
There's a saying — "Don't get even, get a rope." In Texas, they used to hang the horse thieves. Cowgirls are strong, ambitious women, and it is an empowering statement.

BWR: Glad you didn't use that credo with the saddle stealer. One of your shirts says "Hotter than a $2 pistol." How popular is that one?
Very. "Western Lifestyles" is using the shirt in photo shoot. It's a great seller.
