Kyle Rains, our friend in Woodrow alumni, alerted us this morning to a fairly significant move proposed by the alumni group.
Woodrow Wilson High School graduates, as far back as 1962, have gathered for monthly happy hour meetings at the High Point Restaurant and pub. The establishment is located north of Forest Lane, well out of the Woodrow area.
Now, the alums want to bring it home. The group has proposed moving the monthly happy hour to Bailey's 1st and 10 in Hillside Village.
This Thursday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m. marks the first trail run back in "Woodrowville" for the group. Rains and the organizers want to attract a crowd large enough to create an economy of scale and persuade the owners to cut a little pricing slack to sweeten the happy hour deals.
They are looking for a Woodrow grad group of at least 50 patrons to make the point.

Thanks Kyle for the plug. Any Woodrow grads from all classes are welcomed to come join in. Kyle, The 1 & 10 is looking for a head count to staff up for this. Get back to me if your group is coming out. We will be there around 6:30 pm.

I sent this info to some of the '50's class friends. We go to Bailey's often so they may want to join you guys. The '54 and '55 classes are very active in get-togethers.

Listen up Woodrow Grads. Last night was a huge success at The 1 an 10. I did an unofficial head count of both rooms. We match the regulars head for head at 68 people. And we still had more people coming and going. It is almost certain that we will start coming here on the Last Thurs. of each month starting in Aug. We need to make sure we don't leave anyone behind when we do move. Kyle Rains (WWW 76) and Don Autry (WWW 63) got the word out. So look out Lakewood, we are coming home!
