The Children's Center, established in 1952,  is a licensed developmental school for young children ages two-and-a-half to five.

Located on a beautiful tree-lined street at 1423 San Saba, The Children's Center offers two-, three-, and five-day programs. From the beginning, the school has provided a happy, loving atmosphere where children are encouraged in their emotional, social, physical, and intellectual growth.

Special programs at The Children's Center include Body Rhythmics, Music, and Computer. Art is incorporated into the children's work daily, and a multi-sensory approach is used to teach readiness skills. 

The school day is 9:00a to 12:00 noon. An extended day until 2:00p is offered Tuesday or Wednesday, when the children bring their lunch and are enriched by a variety of afternoon programs. 

The Children's Center maintains a waiting list and schedules visits to the school in the spring as space becomes available.
